Sheep To Shawl
Marlene Halstead
will demonstrate the process of wool production, harvesting of
the wool and the use of the wool to create finished products.
Marlene will show us her method to shear the sheep and
participants will be able to give it a try!!! So dress
accordingly, carpool if possible and be ready for a great
education in a long standing tradition. There will be a
limit of 20 people so call soon to register or for more

Lenape Lands
Shelley DePaul and Fred Werkheiser will present this program on
a conserved property that was once a Lenape campground along the
Tohickon Creek. Shelley will bring us closer to the Lenape with
a drumming demonstration, candy dance for the children and
stories from the Lenape tradition. Fred will discuss the
stonework present at the site as well as discussing Sacred Sites
of the Lenape. This should be a wonderful mix of place and
culture, don’t miss this exciting window into the Lenape way of

Hedgerows - An Icon of Bucks County's Rural Vernacular Landscape
David
Hughes of Fringetree Design Studios,LLC will present some of
his observations on how hedgerows were created, what native
species are common to them and what invasive species threaten
our hedgerows. He will also discuss the functions and
ecological values that existing hedgerows provide and share some
thoughts on how to best preserve these unique landscape
features. David will draw on local and regional examples to
show the splendor of our hedgerows. Meeting will take place at
Christ Lutheran Church 353 E. Dark Hollow Rd. Pipersville PA.
Followed by an outdoor visit to several nearby hedgerows.
