Gov't Agencies & Programs: Local, state and federal agencies can help you understand natural resource ordinances and laws, but also have great stewardship information, and sometimes even offer funding assistance programs for landowners interested in property management and restoration.

Bucks County:
Bucks County Open Space and Agricultural Land Preservation Programs: Focuses on permanently preserving farmland, protecting unique natural and environmental features and providing park and recreation areas in Bucks County.
Bucks County Natural Areas Program: The Natural Areas Program mission is to protect as much as possible of Bucks County’s unique natural heritage, by working with municipalities and non-profit land conservancies to acquire and permanently preserve land that possesses significant natural resources.
Bucks County Conservation District: The Bucks County Conservation District works to help people and the community take care of the natural resources in Bucks County including soil, water, wildlife, trees and other plants.

Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, DCNR: The DCNR’s mission is to conserve and sustain Pennsylvania’s natural resources (State Parks, State Forests and community open space) for present and future generations’ enjoyment.
Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, DEP: The DEP’s mission is to administer environmental laws and regulations to protect Pennsylvania’s air, land and water from pollution and to provide for the health and safety of its citizens through a cleaner environment.

Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission: The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission’s mission is to protect, conserve, and enhance the Commonwealth’s aquatic resources and provide fishing and boating opportunities.
Pennsylvania Natural Heritage Program (formerly PNDI): Provides information on the location and status of important ecological resources (plants, vertebrates, invertebrates, natural communities and geologic features) to help inform environmental decisions, guide conservation work and land-use planning.
