Accredited Land Trust
The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, has awarded the Tinicum Conservancy National Accreditation, one of only 5 percent of land trusts nationwide to receive this honor.
The Accreditation seal means that the Tinicum Conservancy meets national quality standards for land preservation. The award came after a rigorous, 18-month application and review process that looked closely at how the Conservancy runs its programs and examined every aspect of its operations. The land trust accreditation seal is a mark of distinction in land conservation.
“The Conservancy does its work and does it well, even though we are a small group,“ says Jim Engel, TC executive director. Out of the 1,700 land trusts in existence across the country, the number accredited will never top 10 percent,” he adds, “so the Conservancy membership and the greater community should feel proud to have achieved this distinction.
