Emerald Ash Borers

Have you seen those 3-sided purple boxes hanging from the trees on roadsides lately? Do you know what they are? They are part of a national effort by the US Department of Agriculture and the Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry to detect the presence of the Emerald Ash Borer... an Asian insect that's destroying our ash trees all across the country. If this insect is not controlled, our ash trees may very well go the way of the American Chestnut: Gone.
